Location: Metro southwest VA
Facility Features: Newly-opened, 34-bed, 4-year-old rehab facility located 7 blocks from Hospital, the affiliated 800-bed, Trauma I acute care hospital, 3 physiatrists on staff who only do inpatient but one will add hospital consults to his responsibilities and one will add outpatient, census from 10- 23, diagnoses in order from most to least are stroke, TBI, SCI and more; electronic medical records
System Features: This hospital is a not-for-profit healthcare organization serving nearly one million people in Virginia through hospitals, outpatient specialty centers and advanced primary care practices. 600 physicians representing more than 60 specialties, 152 practice sites.
Responsibilities: 70% inpatient/30% administrative. The inpatient would total approximately 10 beds. The position will be primarily inpatient, but there is opportunity for outpatient work as well as working with the consult service. The physicians work in an interdisciplinary model with orthopedics and neurosurgery.
The outpatient setting includes a strong focus on musculoskeletal and neurological illness/injuries, general rehab diagnosis, and EMG’s. The outpatient setting will also involve a close working relationship with orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, and other specialties in a multispecialty clinic and the opportunity for developing specialized clinics.

Call: 1:5, another physiatrist will join the facility this Spring; with beeper call from home.
Compensation: Salary plus incentive. The salary is based on the Medical Group Management Association and American Group Practice Association salary numbers. The first tier of the incentive will be as much as 20% of the salary and dependent on quality indicators, patient satisfaction, etc. If this incentive tier is met, then the second tier is based on RVU’s.

Candidate: Should be Board Certified with 3+ years experience as medical director of an inpatient rehab facility. Interest or experience with Neurorehab is a plus.
