Practice Owner’s
Comments: The practice I have created is incredible for the right person,
someone who is willing to work hard, but appreciates the
importance of healthy eating and living as a fundamental
component of patient and physician health.
Responsibilities: No call. I work Monday through Friday outpatient only. There are also almost unlimited opportunties for IME’s, impairment ratings, etc. 400-500 patients/month, 20-30 patients/day, all types of outpatient work to include Workers Comp and IME’s.
Office Features: My office environment is beautiful. I have a mental health
counselor in the office and I am working on providing massage
therapy and nutrition counseling services as well.
My office of 4,500 square feet includes my own EMG machine and room, my own C-arm and electric table (both purchased new in 2007). I have a radiology technician, CMT, 2 billing personnel, and an office manager.
I recently purchased an integrated billing, scheduling and EMR system from a local company with many successes in the region.
Options: I am open to discussing various possibilities— my main goal is more time off. I am open to complete buy-out, gradual buy-out, or part-time person who can manage the work and cross-cover. I’m also open to someone working locum tenens with a permanent practice association option. My price for the building is $325,000 (renting is an option at $3000/month), for the equipment (EMG, C-arm, electric table) is about $100,000. My price for the practice itself (EMR and billing package, patients, etc) is approximately $325,000. Total is approximately $750,000. I am also open to the possibility of financing this.
The most important aspect will be a fit in terms of values, goals, and willingness to learn. Practicing in a way that brings consistency to the patients is important.
In addition to PM&R, I am subspecialty certified in Pain Medicine, I am certified in Addiction Medicine from ASAM, and also completed a certification process in Medical Acupuncture.
Competition: There is limited competition here (only one other PM&R doctor) with a great deal of potential.
Candidate
Qualifications: The person to work with me will need to be able to manage pain meds, including controlled II’s, be willing to become certified in Suboxone prescribing, and be able to perform joint and trigger point injections. It would be nice if the candidate knows how to perform lumbar procedures under fluoro, but is not required. Ability to perform EMG’s is also necessary.
Payor Mix: Most of my patients are worker’s comp or commercial insurance. I have a great payor mix! Very little managed care
Community
Features: The town is big enough for both personal and professional opportunities (with steady growth on the horizon), but small enough to provide quality lifestyle. Low cost-of-living. Wonderful art community. Art school. Greenway trail. Known as the Land-Between-The Lakes so plenty of water activities such as kayaking. Wineries. Yoga studio’s. Cosmopolitan restaurants. No city hassles.
