OPTION 1 – 3-DAY WORK WEEK OF FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
Responsibilities: Approximately 10 hours/day Fridays -Do history and physicals for patients from Thursday night, do Friday admissions only, no requirement to round on existing inpatients (will be seen by their attendings on Friday morning) Saturdays and Sundays – round on patients, write order and respond to all inpatients Will do consults at local hospitals If in addition, the candidate would like to, he/she can provide outpatient services on the other days such as musculoskeletal, consults, joint injections and EMG’s; there’s a huge potential for EMG’s; there’s an EMG machine in the office When the doctor needs to go away for a weekend now and then, the current physiatrists will swap days Rounding on Saturday and Sunday will generally be on 60 to 70 patients. There will be no inpatient EMG’s. If a patient admitted to the rehab hospital needs an EMG, the patient will be brought to the current doctor’s office where an emg machine is available. The outpatient practice days are up to the candidate A few consults on a weekly basis will be required at the local acute care hospitals but again this will be considered part of the outpatient practice and generates additional compensation. Coverage for needed weekends off and for vacation and CME time will be provided by the other two doctors in the practice.
Call: No call except on the 3 days working Call is by beeper and patients are medically stable so calls are infrequent

Benefits: The practice pays the FL license fees, malpractice and provides a 401(k) after the first year, health insurance, practice overhead (office space, billing services, office staff and supplies) Vacation is 2 weeks the first year plus 1 week of CME, the second year the vacation is 3 weeks and 1 week CME with a cap of 4 weeks vacation and 1 week CME The 401(k) amounts to $20,000 – $50,000 per year
Compensation: Salary for the inpatient work of approximately $125,000 – $135,000
Additional compensation – keep 50% of all outpatient receivables. The outpatient practice can consist of consults at local acute care hospitals and all clinic patients, office procedures, EMGs, etc. If choosing to do consults, must work at least a day beyond the 3-day weekend work. Consults net pay is $125.
Candidate Qualifications: Board Certified/Qualified physiatrist who has an interest and expertise in inpatient care to include medical issues Should have excellent interpersonal and communications skills
OPTION 2 – FULL-TIME POSITION
Responsibilities: Take care of approximately 20 inpatients Provide consults at local hospitals within 5, 10 and 15 minutes of the rehab hospital Provide outpatient services such as musculoskeletal, consults, joint injections and EMG’s; there’ a huge potential for EMG’s; there’s an EMG machine in the office
Call: 1:4 weekends
On call for your own patients during the week Every third month, be back-up call for the nurse practitioner which amounts to 2 hours rounding each day
